Now that Christmas has come and gone, we can turn our focus to the next big event on the horizon. Good thing it’s only a week away! New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year, and no matter what you’re doing, whether you’ll be braving the cold to watch the ball drop in Times Square with thousands of others, or going to a fun dinner or cocktail party with friends as 2012 rolls in, some of New York’s local boutiques have plenty of ideas to keep you looking great.
If you’re willing to brave the cold to ring in the new year in Times Square, you need to look both warm and fashionable (this is New York after all!). A tweed coat provides both warmth and elegance. Just add a warm thermal, some bright jeans, and cozy accessories! (A. Cheng Bree Coat in Black Tweed, Dear Fieldbinder LA Made Brinley Thermal in Black, J Brand Mid Rise 11″ Skinny Jeans in Black Cherry, Matt Bernson Exeter Oxford in Bronze, Assembly New York Paula Bianco Chunky Infinity Scarf in Beige, A. Have dinner party plans for NYE? It’s all about the accessories! Take a basic LBD and black leather clutch and make it pop with some bright and colorful accessories, a chunky necklace, floral print wedges, and bright thigh-highs to loudly ring in 2012! For a cocktail get-together among friends (my plans for this coming New Years Eve!) the key is black and sparkly! Let a sequined dress be your central focus, with simple, yet elegant, black accessories. Add a unique necklace for an extra bit of glitz and sparkle! (A. Cheng Layered Sequin Dress, Erin Templeton Good Girl Large Bag in Black, Jeffrey Campbell Lane Heels, MeMoi Cashmere Tights in Black, Lady Grey Prong Set Pyrite Necklace)
